Wigan on a FA Cup run – 4th Round

The page will be updated until all of the FA Cup 4th Round results are confirmed:

Spurs finally saw off brave Newport Town at Wembley last night after the Welsh our took them to a replay. The north London outfit made last night look easy but they certainly didn’t like playing on Newport’s Rodney Parade tight and intimate ground originally. They’ll have a similar issue next round now too as they face Rochdale at their Spotland, after they saw off Millwall on their awful pitch.

The biggest upset, Wigan Athletic 2 v West Ham United 0

There weren’t too many upsets in the fourth round, but certainly the biggest came at the DW Stadium. Where Wigan, who’d already beaten Premier League Bournemouth in the previous round, knocked out West Ham United this time around by two goals to nil. They now face the mighty Manchester City at home in the next round after they easily beat Cardiff City 2-0.

The only other upset came at Anfield where Liverpool were beaten 2-3 by a battling West Brom team who came from behind to win. The main talking point of the game though was VAR, after decision after decision was questioned by the system and a tough night for referee Craig Pawson
