Trafford FC managed to gain a play-off spot with victory over Kendal Town FC at Shawe View yesterday in the final league game of the season. Myself and a few friends when down to the match and there was a large crowd there as well to cheer on their local team.
Despite the nerves the Trafford boys performed to their best and in the end the final score was Trafford FC 4 vs Kendall Town 0 and here are a few photos from our day out.
“Trafford clinched a play-off spot in the Evo Stik League Division One North table on Saturday with an emphatic, but at times nervy, victory over a spirited Kendal Town side at the First Point Shawe View Stadium.
Backed by a large and vociferous home support, the hosts made the ideal start when, after just six minutes, Sean Miller broke down the right, pulled the ball back to Danny Frost and when his shot was blocked on the goal-line, Mark Derbyshire pounced to ram the ball home from close range.
Trafford laboured for the remainder of the first half appearing tired after four games in a week and just after the half hour mark manager Tom Baker reinforced his midfield by replacing Sean Miller with substitute Chris Palmer.”
