On Sunday 16th September 2018, the Whalley Range Sunday Team had to take a break from their league campaign after just two games, to take part in the Preliminary Round of the Manchester FA Sunday Amateur Cup.

After getting a bye passed the Preliminary Round last season, the Whalley Range team weren’t as fortunate this time around as they were drawn out against Carrion Crow FC from the Tameside League.

At half-time it was 2-2 but unfortunately for Whalley Range it ended in a early exit from the County Cup as they went down 7-2 in the end. Going into the last fifteen minutes they found themselves 3-2 down, so pushed forward to get back into the game but ended up conceding a load of goals.
